Leukocare Appoints VP Business Development

Leukocare AG, a privately-owned company developing innovative biofunctional surfaces using its proprietary Stabilizing and Protecting Technology (SPS), announced the appointment of Wolfram Altenhofen, PhD, as its new VP Business Development. Altenhofen previously was responsible for building up sales forces in Europe and India. A pharmacist by profession, he received his PhD in biophysics from Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany. Returning from temporary appointments in USA and France, Altenhofen continued his research in the field of drug discovery for BASF in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He has gained extensive knowledge in preclinical research as well as in the sales organisation of pharmaceutical products and he can rely on a worldwide network in the biopharmaceutical industry.

To accommodate the company’s dynamic growth, Leukocare also merged its R&D division in Frankfurt with their head office in Munich and completed the relocation to the Innovation Center for Biotechnology (IZB) in Martinsried/Munich in June 2010.
