The medical device manufacturing supply chain from start to finished device is highlighted each November at Messe Düsseldorf during the co-located Medica and Compamed trade shows. Last year, 134,500 visitors reportedly attended the events. This year, organisers have added several showcases to attract new and repeat visitors.

| This year, Compamed will launch the Suppliers Forum. |
At Compamed’s new Suppliers Forum, experts will present recent developments in areas such as materials, production techniques, nanotechnology and process control. The forum will be similar to the Compamed High-Tech Forum, an annual fixture organised by the IVAM network that focuses on microsystems technologies, but with a broader focus. The Suppliers Forum will convene in Hall 8b.
Also new this year is FutureCare, a pavilion presented in cooperation with IT industry association BITKOM. The 350-m2-area will feature innovations in IT-based healthcare. Attendees will be able to take guided tours to learn about electronic health records, doctor-to-doctor communication systems, mobile healthcare devices and other electronic solutions.
Medica, the world’s largest medical trade show, will also introduce the Econ Forum, organised by German health insurance company Techniker Krankenkasse. The forum will address topics relevant to decision makers across the healthcare ecosystem. In addition to the Econ Forum, several now-familiar forums return to Medica this year, including the Medica Tech Forum, Medica Health IT Forum, Medica Vision, Medica Physio Forum and the Medica Congress, which typically welcomes more than 5000 visitors.
