Packaging specialist Oliver Medical (Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA) has received a 2009 Silver Award in Technical Innovation from the Flexible Packaging Association for its Osurance zone coated lids. Manufactured in a certified ISO 14644-1 Class 8 clean room, Osurance zone coated lids eliminate the risk of product contamination while maximising porosity resulting in shortened sterilisation cycles. The company’s unique release-liner coating process applies adhesive in a controlled area along the package flange, eliminating adhesive exposure to the medical device. Osurance zone coated lids combine optimal zone coverage, the company’s exclusive Xhale adhesive with sure-seal DotCoat technology and consistent seal integrity.
