Smithers Rapra Appoints New Commercial Manager for European Market

Smithers Rapra, Polymer and Composite Consultancy, Analysis and Testing specialist announced the appointment of Sean Thomson as Commercial Manager for the European medical market. Thomson worked for 10 years at SABIC Innovative Plastics specialising in customer application development in the medical devices industry and now brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His successful career within the drug delivery segment drove growth in revenues by the innovative application of polymers.

Thomson obtained a BEng with Honours (Mechanical Engineering) at the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom in 2000. Following his studies, he worked as a Technical Representative at the Technical Answer Centre for GE Plastics based in Bergen op Zoom, NL, European Headquarters. In 2003, he moved to the United Kingdom as Application Development Manager supporting customers in the Fluid Engineering and Healthcare Segments with product development. Since April 2008, he has been Program Manager Healthcare within the Global Marketing Team at SABIC Innovative Plastics.

Gerresheimer CEO Hands Over Top Job

Chief Executive Officer Dr Axel Herberg is not seeking reappointment and will leave the Management Board when his contract expires in June. The Supervisory Board has therefore appointed Uwe Röhrhoff, a member of the Management Board for many years, as his successor effective in June.
 
Röhrhoff has been with Gerresheimer for 20 years and stands for continuity and experience at the top of the business. He was appointed to the Management Board in 2003 and, among other things, bore key responsibility for the development of Gerresheimer’s important US and Chinese business.

Cappella Announces Addition to Board of Directors

Vulcanium Metals Names New European Business Development Manager

Vulcanium Metals International, a titanium stockist located in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, introduced Thomas Ziert as its newest European Business Development Manager. Since 1997, Ziert has worked in titanium sales for medical, aerospace and industrial applications, managing key accounts and negotiating international marketing plans for some of the most prominent names in the European metals trade.

Ziert comes on board just as Vulcanium Metals International announces it has received both AS9100 and ISO 9001 certifications for its UK facility.
