New Medical Trade Show to Be Held in Karlsruhe
Focusing on precision components for medical device manufacturers, the new MediPart trade show will be held alongside the SurFacts and InterPart trade shows at the Messe Karlsruhe in Germany 3–5 June. The SurFacts show will display a variety of surface treatment and finishing technologies, applications of which include orthopaedic and cardiovascular devices. Dedicated to precision parts engineering, InterPart primarily targets the automotive and machine construction industries. The colocated event will draw more than 600 exhibitors and 2000 visitors, according to event planners. The brainchild of organizers Canon Communications, which publishes this magazine, MediPart is expected to attract more than 100 exhibitors and more than 2000 visitors.

Automatica Returns to Munich
An international trade show for robotics and automation equipment, Automatica will be held at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre 10–13 June. Filling five trade fair halls and more than 31,000 m2 of net exhibition space, the show is expected to draw 900 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors. Held every two years, the trade show will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about recent advances in machine vision systems, sensors, drive technology, positioning systems, software, and other areas.

Medical Moulding and Extrusion Conference Scheduled
A conference on medical moulding and extrusion will be held 17–18 June at the Maritim Hotel in Cologne, Germany. It will provide a forum for the medical industry to discuss recent developments in materials and polymer processing technology. Dry Powder Inhaler Conference Convenes in London
An annual international conference on dry powder inhalers (DPI) will be held at the Le Meridien Hotel, Piccadilly, London, 5–6 June. The international conference is designed to be of interest to pharmaceutical and medical device professionals. It will showcase new inhaler technologies and provide a discussion on systemic delivery and patient DPI use. Topics to be considered include the future of inhaled insulin, developing inhalation drug products, a new single-dose dry powder inhaler, and current regulatory issues.

Frankfurt Hosts Optics Trade Fair
The ninth annual Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies will be held 17–20 June at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. Held every two years, the trade fair will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about developments in optics, optoelectronics, laser technology, and fibre optics, as well as optical transmission and information technologies. The event also will feature a conference program, which is organized by Spectaris, a German industry association for optical, medical, and mechatronic technologies.
