Motors and Motion Control Products

Plug-in minidrive
A pluggable intelligent minidrive has been designed for motion-control applications where space is critical. Measuring 67 × 43 × 20 mm and weighing 27 g, the PIM3605 drive from Technosoft can be used with brushless, dc, linear or step motors that generate up to 180 W of continuous power and 600 W of peak power. The drive can run complex motion operations without the use of an external controller. Movement sequences can be programmed directly on the drive.

Flat motor
Measuring 10 mm in diameter by 12.5 mm in length, a flat motor from maxon motor AG offers high nominal torque of 0.83 mN∙m maximum and stall torque up to 1.29 mN∙m. The outer diameter of the EC 9.2 flat motor includes a cover that protects against contact and serves as a mounting aid during installation of the motor. The motor is suited for use as a drive for space-restricted medical technology applications. The product is available with or without Hall sensors.

Brushless dc motors

Measuring 32 mm diam and 11.7 mm long, brushless nuvoDisc motors are suited for space-constrained applications such as portable respirators. The motors’ design and the use of ball bearings minimise wear. Delta Line’s high-speed slotless design eliminates cogging to provide smooth operation. A slotted design is available for applications that require detent torque. The motors can generate speeds up to 50 000 rpm and offer mechanical power output up to 30 W.

Brush dc motors
High-power-density 22-N brush dc Athlonix motors deliver a maximum continuous torque of 16.5 mN∙m at an input speed of approximately 6400 rpm. The Portescap design eliminates cogging to provide high output, speed and acceleration. Available in five winding types in the 3- to 48-V range, the motors can be used to power the movement of sample assays and extraction of fluids for lab analysis and to assist in fluid dispensing through pipettes.
