Materials-testing system manufacturer Zwick Roell will present the 2010 Zwick Roell Science Awards in March 2011 at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. The awards will recognise researchers whose work demonstrates the innovative use of materials-testing equipment to develop new materials.
First prize will be commemorated with the Paul Roell Medal (pictured) and €5000, while second- and third-prize recipients will receive €2000 and €1000, respectively. The deadline for submissions is 1 November 2010. Applicants are not required to use Zwick Roell's material testing systems and can use any commercial or ‘home-made’ testing equipment.
In addition to being heavily involved in the development of the new materials, components and technologies, universities and research institutes train and inspire the next generation of scientists. As a manufacturer of materials testing equipment, Zwick Roell recognises the importance of the sector and is proud to acknowledge the achievements of young scientists with this new award.
Details of how to enter are available from Zwick Roell.
