The German Medtech Miracle

On the eve of its participation in the World Forum for Medical Devices in Kansai, Japan, inward investment agency Germany Trade & Invest took a timely opportunity to remind everyone of the rather remarkable stature of Germany's medical technology industry.

 

Germany’s healthcare sector has the potential to overtake automotive as the country’s flagship industry, notes the agency in a press release. Generating €278.3 billion in annual revenue, Germany’s healthcare industry already represents 11.6% of national GDP, surpassing the, ahem, automotive industry. Moreover, German medtech conquers markets: two-thirds of healthcare-related revenue is generated by exports, according to Germany Trade & Invest.

 

Those are just a few of the things that Germany Trade & Invest will be touting as they network at the World Forum for Medical Devices. The event is held in Kansai on 23 and 24 February.
