Arrow Medical Introduces Silicone Compression Moulding in its Cleanroom

Arrow Medical offers contract manufacturing services for medical device companies, with a focus on joining and assembly technologies.

The recent introduction of silicone compression moulding in one of the cleanrooms means that the unit now handles devices, assemblies and components using many different materials. The moulded components go directly to the assembly line without leaving the building. Inspection, assembly and handling is self-contained. The cleanroom is fully equipped for UV curing and other gluing and bonding techniques.

Materials joined and bonded on Arrow Medical’s other assembly lines at its Kington facility include polyurethanes, polyesters, polyurethane, flame-bonded laminates, films, unwoven webs, flocks, brushed and conventional nylons, silicone and rubbers and a range of other biomedical materials. The materials are joined, sealed and bonded to be fluid-proof, gas-tight, flexible, strong and biocompatible.
