MEDTEC Europe Preview: Flexible Chemical Optical Sensors Measure Partial Pressure of Oxygen

Featuring long-term stability, good resolution and fast response, chemical optical sensors from PreSens Precision Sensing GmbH provide precise measurements of partial pressure of oxygen (pO2) in medical patients. The flexible nature of the sensors allows their use in numerous applications, in all of which the rapid generation of accurate oxygen readings can help surgeons make timely decisions and take appropriate interventional measures. Used in connection with the brain, for example, the minimally invasive sensors can signal inadequate oxygen supply to that organ. In perfusion cells, they measure arterial pO2. Small-footprint sensors for medical device OEMs, assembled in facilities certified to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485, are easy to integrate into equipment and provide precise oxygen measurements.
