NC Programming Software Optimised for Tubes and Stents
CAM-Service’s newest version of its NC programming software Cagila has been optimised for medical devices such as tubes and stents. Functions specialised for laser cutting applications generate optimised NC code while reducing programming time for laser macro and micro processing.

The new Cagila 3-D software is based on a 3-D solid modeling kernel, which supports the import of all common data formats such as STEP, IGES, VDAFS and interfaces with native formats of SolidWorks, NX (Unigraphics/Siemens), CATIA, ProEngineer and Autodesk Inventor. Programming of the NC laser paths is based on edges of the 3-D solid model, while allowing the user to define variable cutting angles. Simultaneous 2 to 5 axis processing, as required for parallel edges, is supported. A real NC simulation with collision detection ensures error-free laser processing.

Other options such as the processing of 3-D models layer by layer provide optimised data for rapid prototyping and ablation processes. Furthermore, Cagila provides new and improved modules for the established NC programming software Cagila 2D, including advanced support for scanners (cutting, ablation and perforation) and the CNC-Analyzer for the analysis of differences between the original CAD drawing and logged real CNC axis positions.
