Sonotec’s type ABD05.xx intelligent air bubble detectors represent a new generation of the Sonocheck series. The sensors are employed to detect air and gas bubbles in liquid-filled tubes or metering boxes, and have been adapted to the medical technology sector to increase patient safety. The compact construction and strict hygienic standards of the company’s sensors are appropriate for dialysis and blood or nutrient transfusions or injections. The air bubble sensors have a customised programmable microcontroller so that extensible functionalities can be integrated. The sensors have no fluid contact, increasing reliability and maximising patient safety. The detection method is independent of fluid colour, and bubbles of a very small size can be detected quickly and reliably.
