Roundness Tester is Designed for Demanding Environments


Ametek Taylor Hobson's Surtronic R-Series roundness and form tester

Ametek Taylor Hobson has introduced a high-throughput roundness measuring system suitable for the shop floor and the inspection room. Applications include the dental and medical industries.

The Surtronic R-Series roundness and form testers use an orientation mechanism that allows the operator to easily position a part for measurement in as little as 20 s. A patented centring attachment means that a user does not need to recentre the tester when using it to measure a series of similar parts.

The instruments are designed for measuring high volume-bearing parts (including raceway, ball, needle and roller bearings) and for a range of quality control applications.

ISO-compliant measurements can be taken with ±25nm accuracy and 6 nm gauge resolution. Results are displayed on a touch-screen interface using the X-sight software.

The instruments are designed for 24/7 operation in demanding environments. A range of accessories and standards is available.
